(1119.7) 102:2.2 One of the characteristic peculiarities of genuine religious assurance is that, notwithstanding the absoluteness of its affirmations and the stanchness of its attitude, the spirit of its expression is so poised and tempered that it never conveys the slightest impression of self-assertion or egoistic exaltation. The wisdom of religious experience is something of a paradox in that it is both humanly original and Adjuster derivative. Religious force is not the product of the individual’s personal prerogatives but rather the outworking of that sublime partnership of man and the everlasting source of all wisdom. Thus do the words and acts of true and undefiled religion become compellingly authoritative for all enlightened mortals. —The Urantia Book, Paper 102 – The Foundations of Religious Faith

Across the short distance of your life…there are many lows and highs…
it has taken many decades of experience to deepen…
to this place where common sense rules…where one may lose the disguise…
allow divine light of true happiness and laughter to seep in…

In this sacred space…sweet nectar of happiness rules…wisdom…wise…
O Love of my life…your divine healing energy saturates…
permeating…every cell in this mortal body….baptize…
purify the animal beast…so that no bent thought penetrates…

Let ego become minimized… your Love Light so fully amplified
that fusion of this personality-experience, with soul form
and you, divine partner, arrives from a distance…and is magnified…
glorifying You, Paradise Father…the new child…emerge…transformed…

In this sacred space…sweet nectar of happiness rules…wisdom…wise…
O Love of my life…your divine healing energy saturates…
permeating…every cell in this mortal body….baptize…
purify the animal beast…so that no bent thought penetrates…

The goal: body of clean habits, stabilized neural energies
and balanced chemical function…lose oneself…in reflective
light of endless divine wisdom…the maximum one receives
of light of truth….feeds the soul to completion…divine directive…

In this sacred space…sweet nectar of happiness rules…wisdom…wise…
O Love of my life…your divine healing energy saturates…
permeating…every cell in this mortal body….baptize…
purify the animal beast…so that no bent thought penetrates…

And when the day and the moment arrive…to transcend the mortal…
no matter how the cessation of the animal takes place…
let us become so identified that we ascend through the portal…
as one, instantly arriving at new home…across time and space…

In this sacred space…sweet nectar of happiness rules…wisdom…wise…
O Love of my life…your divine healing energy saturates…
permeating…every cell in this mortal body….baptize…
purify the animal beast…so that no bent thought penetrates…

(1119.8)102:2.3 It is difficult to identify and analyze the factors of a religious experience, but it is not difficult to observe that such religious practitioners live and carry on as if already in the presence of the Eternal. Believers react to this temporal life as if immortality already were within their grasp. In the lives of such mortals there is a valid originality and a spontaneity of expression that forever segregate them from those of their fellows who have imbibed only the wisdom of the world. Religionists seem to live in effective emancipation from harrying haste and the painful stress of the vicissitudes inherent in the temporal currents of time; they exhibit a stabilization of personality and a tranquillity of character not explained by the laws of physiology, psychology, and sociology.  —The Urantia Book, Paper 102 – The Foundations of Religious Faith

  1. that`s a clear expression of an given present from the beginning of life. very contemplated.
although, … you don`t have to be religious to experience this insightfulness and accept this truthfully. 😉 … is god a taoist? or haven`t we understood him wrong.

    1. Peter, everyone, without exception, whom I have ever met…has a very restricted view and interpretation of what “religion” is. The definition of true religion, in my experience, is nothing more or less than the willingness of an individual to seek for the Paradise Father, discover his spirit already indwelling the mind… Then set forth to communicate with His indwelling spirit, listening to the still small voice within…who is beckoning and leading us into the discovery of the spiritual values of truth, beauty and goodness…the very absolute spiritual values, which characterize the personality of the Universal Father, who dwells on Paradise. The moment we begin having this inner spiritual experience, genuine and firsthand religion, we are prone to talk about it, using our native language to describe our inner spiritual experiences… This is NOT religion… This is religious, theologic and philosophical communication with others about this genuine inner experience of knowing God. Unfortunately, this is also how all of the so-called religions and -isms, and subsequent schisms have come into being. The whole of human civilization is very confused…utterly confused about what constitutes true religion…and mostly willing to settle for second hand religiosity, instead of a firsthand, genuine spiritual experience with the indwelling spirit of the Paradise Father… 🙂
